Is there anything better than sharing a bowl of mussels on a summer patio? It’s pretty high up on our list of life’s pleasures and we wanted to bring this dish to you.
We source sustainably-harvested Prince Edward Island mussels and steam them with fish stock, shallots, house-made creme fraiche and white wine. Alongside the mussels, we plate crusty bread from Dayton’s Good Hands bakery and dill compound butter for soaking up the briny broth.

Here are the event details from their FB page: “We're ending Happy Hollow Hootenanny with a perfect Sunday send off—bluegrass music from acclaimed West Virginia fiddler Dave Bing and friends, and farm-to-table brunch and locally brewed libations from Little Fish Brewing Company! 

Food starts at 11. Tunes start at noon. 

This is a FREE community event, and we invite the public to come and enjoy the great tunes and delicious eats.

The Stuart’s Opera House Arts Education Department has reimagined their beloved Old Time Music Week into a 4 day camp-out at Snow Fork Event Center in Nelsonville teaching and celebrating the music, art, and cultural traditions of Central Appalachia!

FREE workshops in Old Time Music, dancing and calling, traditional crafts and more will be offered all weekend long, with evening performances from acclaimed musicians.

Today we bottled and kegged some spontaneous beer Today we bottled and kegged some spontaneous beer that I’m VERY excited about.  Everyone will get a chance to try it, but only our Wild & Local League members will get to own some bottles. • This spontaneous beer was brewed in the Belgian Lambic tradition.  Turbid mashed with @hausmalts Ohio barley and organic, Ohio-grown red fife wheat.  Boiled for hours with attic-aged, whole-cone hops.  Cooled overnight in the coolship and spontaneously fermented in oak puncheons with no inoculation. 50 total months in oak.  Other than 5 gallons of newer spontaneous beer that we added to ensure a fresh yeast charge for bottle conditioning, it’s an unblended 125 gallons of 4+ year old beer. Today, we bottled only 110, 500 ml bottles in green glass for the league, so each member will receive 3 bottles.  For priming sugar, we used estate honey, from our bee hives, only footsteps outside our brewery doors. We kegged about 8, 50 liter kegs too, so there will be plenty on draft, eventually, in both Athens and at @little_fish_dayton • This is the kind of beer that, if you care about the vast amount of intentionality and provenance that goes into artisanal products, will appeal to you. A beer isn’t just a flavor experience in a glass.  It’s a story  and a journey (in this case, quite a long one). Can’t wait to share it with you all in about 6 months.

house-smoked sustainably raised trout, cream cheese, pink peppercorn, drunken goat cheese, crostini

We love fresh fish, and are always on the hunt for ethically harvested and sustainably raised products to add to our menu.  These rainbow trout came to us from The Blue Hole Trout Pond, a cenote in Castalia, Erie County, OH.  We brined the fish whole and then hot smoked them before separating the meat from the bones. 
Everyone loves some crunchy bread and a creamy dip, so that’s just what we did.  We sweated some onions, added the trout, and then folded it all together with cream cheese and yogurt.  This gets popped in our oven to order topped with panko, crumbled drunken goat cheese, and crushed pink peppercorns.  It’s a lovely way to begin your meal.

***This just in!: 2023 marks the first year that the spruce trees we planted just footsteps outside our brewery door in Athens, Ohio were big enough (about 10 feet high) to provide us with all the spruce tips (20 pounds) we needed for our annual spruce tip brew! That’s a generous 2 pounds per barrel of beer, FYI.***

Spruce Crispy was mashed with all Ohio malts from @hausmalts including pale, Vienna, caramel 90, Honey malt, and malted oats. This year’s batch’s hops were from @auburnacresohio (Triple Pearl: very clean and noble-like). We add Norway spruce tips (harvested when fresh, young, and green) to the boil. Young spruce, instead of being resiny and woody like older spruce, is bright, citrusy, and freshly zingy with evegreen flavor. We ferment Spruce  Crispy to dryness with our preferred lager strain, but the malted oats help keep the mouthfeel full and gentle.6.7% ABV, Gluten Reduced. Grab some today! It’s a late spring/early summer tradition. 🍻❤️ 🎄

Introducing: a very selective curation of bourbons Introducing: a very selective curation of bourbons, available for straight pours in Athens.  Lead bartender Jason Werner put this list together for us, and then took the crew through a very informative tasting. Now it’s your turn! 2 oz. pours for $15.  Our preference is to serve them neat in a Glencarin glass, or on request, we can pour them over a single big fat rock of ice.
