The Giving Tree is our annual spruce tip farmhouse ale, and it is also a way that we give back to our community. $1 from every glass sold in the taproom (and $2 per growler, $20 per wholesale keg), go to COMMUNITY FOOD INITIATIVES, a non-profit with a mission of improving fresh and local food availability for lower-income families in our area. They sustain a number of projects including fresh food donation, cooking education, and community gardens in Athens County.
The Giving Tree is brewed with 100% Ohio-grown ingredients, including malted barley, oats, and wheat from Haus Malts, Nugget hops from Hoppin’ Wheel Farm, maple syrup from Colde Comfort Farm, and spruce tips we harvested down the road from the brewery. The spruce lends a super-fresh, citrusy and, well, sprucey finish to this light-colored saison.
