Orrery of Semi-Precious Stones
Barrel-aged sour ale with black currants, raspberries, and blackberries.
“Orrery” is an intrepid blend of fruited, barrel-aged sour blonde ales. The brightness of the fruit, and the dry, sparkling finish created an image in my mind inspired by some of my favorite science fiction and fantasy: An orrery — a working, moving map of a solar system — with planets represented by colorful jewels (the beer name is also a reference to a short story by Samuel R. Delaney, Time Considered as a Helix of Semi-precious Stones). Orrery spent an average of 2 years in oak, and was bottle conditioned for months before I deemed it ready to consume. It’s ready now. May it accompany you on a journey of your choosing.
