Our Estate series features ingredients grown right here on our property. Estate #2 is a very special & unique beer. This amber sour ale was fermented in a barrel that was first used for bourbon, then Hawk Knob hard apple cider. Then we soured Woodthrush in it. After about a year, we added fresh pressed apple cider from the trees on our land (plus a couple of other local trees) straight to the barrel, and it underwent another round of fermentation. The resulting beer is layered with apple and caramelly flavors in a clean, nuanced sour ale.
