Two things to highlight in this post: 1) It’s Ohio Pint Day, where breweries across Ohio sell limited-edition pint glasses to raise fund for the @ohiocraftbeer (OCBA). 2) We’re getting the games ready and encouraging you all to join us at Oktoberfish 2023!

•PINT DAY INFO: These limited-edition pints with art by Amy Kollar Anderson of @nippromiscuousaleproject are available for $5 each. $1 from each sale goes directly to the Ohio Craft Brewers Association. With the help of many breweries, we are going to raise a lot for the OCBA! We have 24 of these pint glasses in Athens, and 12 of them at @little_fish_dayton , so don’t snooze on this opportunity.

•OKTOBERFISH INFO: The Athens date is 10/14. The Dayton Date is 10/21. Event info is posted on each location’s respective FB page, and we’ll post updates as things develop. For the first year, we’ll have some “Barrelschlagen” stations set up for people to play all day. Can you pound nails into a stump with the back side of a hammer in less swings than your friends? Then you win!!! What do you win? Bragging rights…whatever you may choose to wager with your friends (🍻). But for the Stein Holding Competition at 4:00, there WILL be prizes for all categories of entrants! Get ready, start practicing holding out those full 1 liter steins…it’s not as easy as it sounds!

It’s autumn in Athens; time to get SPOOKY! 👻 There are many “haunted” spots around Athens, but maybe none so iconic as the Moonville train tunnel in Zaleski state forest. Bobby Rosenstock of @justajar turned that image into a beautiful (woodcut print) label for our bourbon barrel-aged stout. We currently still have bottles of Moonville available in Athens and Dayton. Grab some now to celebrate for Halloween or whenever you go visit your closest “haunted” spot!

If you haven’t heard yet, we’re having a party

If you haven’t heard yet, we’re having a party this Sunday from 6:00-10:00 to honor @chef.becky.clark as she steps back a bit, works a lot less (but still works an important role at Little Fish), and passes the active duties of Executive Chef and General Manager on to @woodsie.chef.jennie (Athens) and @chef.zach.morgan (Dayton). These are big changes obviously, and we want to celebrate all these hugely capable chefs as they make some really important growth steps in their lives. We are so lucky to have them all as part of the LF team, so come celebrate on Sunday with us, won’t you? • The party will take place in our green space. We’ll have all our typical menu & table service available to customers, or, you can join us in the green space for a hang. We’ll have a fire going, we’ll be cooking a huge pot of WV pot beans with ham, and we’ll have a huge shared charcuterie board. $25 bucks gets you all-you-can eat beans and charcuterie too (or you can just stop out and share the love, no need to order that to join the party). Live old time / bluegrass fiddle tunes from 6-8. See you there! 🍻
